Somewhere on an African hillside there is a herd of Elephants. If you could see them they would be knee high
with dried mud, thick rough skin, pock-marked with cuts, scrapes, and bug
bites. They would be separated by brush
and trees. A few drinking from the fresh
rain that drifted upon the land the night before. Some wrestling in the trees, pulling the
leaves off their guardians. Some Elephants
appear older than others. Some younger
and more spry. What you wouldn’t see is
the beating heart, a muscle that weighs in excess of 30lbs. A muscle that is peculiarly similar to the
size….of a…..basketball….
